Thanks for posting Dan. I was wondering if or when Mixtecos were going to be officially described. I thought they were related to maculipinnis like Darren, but this article says helleri. I always thought they looked similar to helleri. I found the article on The Cichlid Room Companion.

So I guess I'll start calling these thorichthys panchovillai blue and found some pics of a gold I had a long time ago.
very nice. I have a group of mixteco blues myself. used to have both green and gold way back when.

Thorichthys will always be a firm favourite for me. There's just something about them I really like.
