Thorichthys sp. "Coatzacoalcos" vs. Thorichthys sp. "Blue Mixteco"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
From what I have read on more scientific sites, sp. Coatzacoalos is the "offical" scientific name while it waits for the scientific species description paper and the 3 mixteco colors are the trade names for the regional variants. As with most things, however, it is always being debated.

Which of the 3 variants does the one in the photo for sp. Coatzacoalos on cichlid- forum look like?

I guess that would make sense. The gold variant is the only one that cichlid-forum doesn't list. Was it possibly the first variant discovered?

Here is my female Gold from Rapps for comparison.
