I'm between getting pasionis and sp. mixteco for one of my SA/CA tanks, but wanted to know which species tends to be more peaceful, active, personable, etc. from personal experiences. They'd be sharing a tank with some smaller cutteri and larger geophagus.

pasionis gets larger but tends to be more chill than mixteco, from my experience. Mixteco can also be really tough on each other.

Thoricthys in general can be tough to stock: they'll beat on anything that they can...but will get punked hard by a lot of more aggressive fish.

I'd go for the pasionis myself, I find they are the prettiest Thor's to my eye. But keep an eye on them with the geo's. Some people on here have noticed a bit of the an attitude between central american sifters (thor's, Astatheros) and south american sifters ... which would make sense. Next to same/similiar species, fish tend to be most territorial with other fish that eat the same way/same thing.
