I picked up 5 Thoricthys Maculipinnis juvies yesterday but am unsure if that is what they truly are. They do not have a black spot on their sides like all the pics of Maculipinnis that I see online. The largest one is the one I took the pictures of. It is approximately 2 to 2-1/2 inches and the rest are considerably smaller. Let me know what you think.

looks like its either a thorichthys maculipinnis or a thorichthys aureum. Yours probably doesn't have the spot yet because its still getting use to the tank. You also have a light colored substrate which could by why also...usually if you have lighter colored substrate your cichlids will be lighter too
