My computer has recently crapped out on me everytime I go to login to anything with a secure site such as yahoo mail, I get the following message (I have never had this problem before, as everything else works, so it's not like I am not connected to the internet, just when I go to log into some sites, I get this message):
"The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings"
I checked and I have 128 bit security, what else may be a problem? And how can I go about trying to fix it
Thanks in advance.

clear all internet files and cookies...defrag and try again. This can be caused by a number of things depending on your computers configuration / security set up. setting firewall security too high can also cause this this sort of problem.

right now I am getting some error that the defragmenter can't run (besides the fact that when launched wants me to buy diskeeper lite or something). I will look into it again tomorrow, right now bed. Don't really understand this IBM like I do my dell (whose screen is currently getting fixed).
Anyhow, thanks wolf3101 so far!

Thanks everyone so far for the suggestions.
its my buddys computer (idk why i referred to it as mine in the first post, since mines getting fixed) , so I'll see exactly what he wants to do with it tomorrow and get permission before I start really doing much more of anything to fix the problem.

run in safe mode..

Yup if your just borrowing run it in safe mode.Wouldn't put to much personal info on it tho.Maybe loaded with spyware/addware.Run spybot and adaware. You don't need to buy any thing. If your pc is tell you you need to buy something more then likely spyware.

If its a secure site issue, you need to check your browser's security settings. It may be that the security is set super high and won't allow cookies to be created. Check the Security settings under: Tools>Internet Options>Security and make sure Internet is checked. Medium High is recommended.

Oddly enough it may also be the modem or router. Just because you can surf some sites doesn't mean they're configured or working properly.

Something like that is nearly impossible to diagnose without actually working on it in person.
