So I have a breeding pair of jds and they just spawned so I was thinking of putting the male in my female jaguars tank and seeing what happens. Is this dumb. I've seen hybrids of the two but I'm not sure how common it is. Let me get your thoughts. Plus my jag is a dominant fish. What are your thoughts on getting the male more dominant so they try to breed? Need some input.

You would be risking your jds life. If you have a dominant female jag and u put a jd in there, then it will probably die. It's not stupid, just not a good idea. Love the fry that come out of that. They look awesome.

I would look at the size difference... if the female is bigger then the male jd then yea...lol she can and might kill him.

My male is just as big, if not larger. I'm not worried about her killing him but she may not be interested on breeding with him if he doesn't man up.

If your really going to try it,use a divider.you can make it easy, with egg crate/lighting defuser.search it in the upper right box.once secured they can interact and breed with it in place

I've looked into those before. I'm not that serious about it. Just thought I'd give it a shot while the fry in his tank are growing out.
