While in menards the other day I found this stuff and was wondering what everyone thinks. The company that makes it is local to me so ill be talking to them tomorrow about if it is drinking water safe and if they have any worries about using it.

I payed $18 for a 1 gallon bucket. The 5 gallon bucket is $89

here is the menards link to the produc with the safty sheets on the page.

So far I have tested it with a board. the board soaked up the first coat. I have applied a second coat and will do so for a week. 1 coat a day to see how it builds up. Really hoping thorworks says its drinking water safe.

Is there any tests I can do my self.

is there anything I should be asking the company

Try building a little stone/masonry box and sealing it then fill with water and see if it holds. That would be the ultimate test.

Sent from my mind to my fingers to my phone to the MFK servers to you

Carve a wooden glass coat with 5 coats. Drink from it for a week or two. Fully tested:D

I am planing on building 2 200 gallon twin tanks and a 500 gallon tank for the fish room. Was hoping that if I did the corners in fiberglass cloth and marine grade resin that maybe i could seal the rest of it with this stuff as opposed to doing all marine grade or even pond coat.

Any particular liquid you had in mind? I'm more of a beer and whiskey kind of guy just not sure how that would help my fish :P

so after 5 coats it is getting a good layer on the wood. I talked to thorworks yesterday and they told me not to use there product with in a water situation as acrylic leaches and breaks down in water. thoughts?
