thoughts on new eheim filtration?

Hey guys,

I have a 55 right now, that have a bunch of Geos in it, and is being filtered by a cascade 1500, and i want to beef up my filtration. i was looking at eheim, but im not sure what would be a good fit for my tank that isnt too weak but not absurdly overkill. thinking maybe a pro 3 2073 or 2075?

any constructive thoughts would be appreciated

The Eheim pro series are excellent, easy to use filters. I would go with the 2073 as the 75 is overkill unless you have a super overstocked tank.

get a pro2 2028, used to have two before i sold em. loved those filters.

If you can grab those used, go for 2028...I have 3 and was wanting more but they discontinued that.

Why not just upgrade the media inside the canister, if you mean to replace it outright...

If you plan to keep it, then add a 2073.

I have a Eheim Pro III 2076 on my 110g and love it. It has never given me any problems. Before I bought it I did a lot of research on many different aquarium boards. I found some complaints about some of the Pro II's but none on the Pro III's. Maybe it was because the III hadn't been out long enough or maybe it is because Eheim fixed the weaknesses in their Pro II's when the designed the Pro III's?
