Looks like it may be female, if im not mistaken, the anal fin is rounded and not pointed. I may be way off base here, not an expert but if the anal fin is rounded isn't it female?

Where have you come up with this method of sexing Channa?
It is incorrect.

Also to the OP, the color looks very drab. What temperature are you keeping it at?

Temp is at 25 atm dropping over the next couple of months, the tank is a little bright too as it was used for tropheus previously , background is to be changed also more planting and less lighting, i will post some more pics when this is finished next couple of days see what you think, thanks for the replys

Mine were kept at 19c for most of the year.
You need to think about doing the same with yours.
Remember these are SUB tropical fish.

....except these are channa, not bichirs....

Still unsure of the method to sex channa......?

Its pretty easy to sex channa, the fish that produces eggs is the female ;-)

There is no "method" caus it depends on the species
