A local store has this one on display and I am thinking of making an offer for it at some point unless I can stop at King Discus in Seattle or Aquatic Central in Sacramento.

Its supposedly a Kamalua.

Its ok. You should really get into a group buy and have some thai fh's shipped in. That is not a high quality fish. It's ok but I would not buy it. There are much better fish out there.
 
Real old school ZZ. I highly doubt any malua. Personally I would try to find better quality, But if you like the looks of him, go for it. A nice fish, Just not "showy" nowadays.
 
yeah theres better quality's out there. as someone said try to get some of the FH overseas thats where all the nice ones are. but unless this one is cheap and you really like it then get it.
 
he has some very nice yellow.
 
Yeah there are more quality flowerhorns out there that can compete in shows. I had that wrong decision I am so excited that I bought a low quality flowerhorn and I am thinking buying another one that is worth a money to spend. So its up to you if you really love that fish buy it but you might despair in the end if you see a high quality fishes. Just like me :(
