I don't usually mix the more aggressive Cichlids but have started a new tank. I call this my new generation. This is a 125 gallon tank and all the fish are small at about 2-3 inches. What do you guys think of this mix?

4 La Ceiba, Honduras yellow head, Freddy
4 Herichthys Carpintis Vontehello
4 Herichthys Deppi
1 questionalbe sex Tom. Asfraci -I think this is a female (6 inches)

I'll probably have to thin the stock down at some point but this is what I'm starting with.

I wouldn't risk an asfraci with any of those fish. To rare in the hobby and someone is going to need that female sometime soon if there is not another collection of them.

That should be fine for growing them out a little. Each group is going to need there own 125g down the road though. Even then you will probably have to remove a few males to keep the peace. All great looking fish and great choices to keep.

Good luck!

I kind of agree about the Asfraci. I would even give her to someone that is breeding as long as i get first dipps on the fry. I so wanted a male but I'm almost 95% sure this is a female at this point.

Mtnpike has a male (won best in show at the ACA). There are a couple of other folks with pairs but I haven't heard of any spawns in forever. I think Don doesn't even have a pair anymore. Last I heard he only has a couple females left.
