Well I've lost all my Gymnogeophagus due to some type of bacteria infection and have no desire to get more. I just don't think I have a nack for these fish. Anyway, I've been just leaving the tank alone for awhile and currently have a pair A. Oblongums ( the only fish that survived the desease) and want to restock the tank with the following fish. Its a 125 gallon tank.

1 pair Andinoacara latifrons
1 Trio of Geophagus Red Tabajos
1 Trio A. Heckeli
1 pair Geophagus Pindare

I just wanted to get some thoughts on this stock list.

I think it's funny how you said it 1 trio why not just say 3. Anyways it think it sounds good but watch the Andinoacara latifrons I find larger acaras to be punks little trouble makers.

i would stick to a large group of one earth eater species and then maybe some acaras, cories, tetras, severums, chocolate cichlids, uarus etc.

I think its "funny" (in an asinine way) that you took the time to write that. :screwy:

He said trio for 3 because he said pair for 2 and thats the proper way to group it.

The 3 heckeli will most likely become one as they grow to full size. The don't play nice with each other and are large enough to do some damage.

I'd also rather do a proper group of Geo's instead of a couple of differant species.

I know what he ment. I just never saw anyone list there stock like that. I guess it's just due to texting. I'm use to people keeping things short.

A Trio would be 2 females and 1 male just so you know. A reverse trio would be 2 males and a female I believe. Anyway, I know I'll be going with the Geo Red Tabajos for sure and if I get anything else it will be to add to the Geo's although i really like the Heckeli's too so its a tough decision to make thats why i wanted some of each.

So you think just a group of Geo's with nothing else right? I think i would get bored with just 3 Red Tabajos and i know i can't afford to buy more because they are very expensive at $60 bucks a pop for small ones.

Well after reading some of the above posts I have decided to go with 5 Geophagus Megasema that are around 4-4.5 inches and leave the A. Oblongums in the tank and see how that goes.

sweet! make sure to post some pics once you get them :)
