That's the problem with common names like Midas and Red Devils. It's used whatever way the most people and vendors believed it should be used, and never any consistency like scientific names. Yes scientific names change, but that change is published.

I am no expert but I have never heard anyone else say midas only refers to a specific color citrinellus. I see midas used for any color citrinellus by everyone else. I thought the common name midas was for citrinellus the same as jack dempsey is used for any color morph. I see people incorrectly using texas cichlid all the time and even on this site it rarely gets corrected. Now I am curious about the correct use of midas. I have to look into this and I am certain of one thing. I will probably spend hours reading info just to walk away with no better understanding than before reading hours of info.
