i wanted to do a moonlight bad and all the ones i saw ppl doing were putting way to much thought into it....

i used four of these from ebay. they are 12v blue LED waterproof light strip with adhesive on one side

i got them for $1.99 from the US with free shipping. made it to my house 2 or 3 days later.

i had a switch at the house but u can pick one up really cheap at an auto parts store.

then i pick up a 120v input to 12v output charger from the thrift store in town for 50 cents. they have a box full of difference chargers. i don't think there is a city out there that doesn't have a goodwill or something.

stuck them to the bottom of the current lights

then four butt connects

when i was finish i drilled holes through the stand and screwed the switch to the side. works great and puts off just the right amount of light

sorry for the bad phone pics.
im sure there is something out there better then this.. but i did it this way do the price i could get everything here. it works great and is out of sight. the finish product looks really clean. better then most lights u pay 40 bucks for the snap on to ur tank

very nice, so you converted them to a wall outlet plug in? please clarify on how you did that, thanks

all phone chargers convert 120vac to dc. alot are just 5 volt or 9 volt dc the one i found looked like it was for a keyboard or a house phone. and on the charger they have really small writing where it will say input:120v ac and under that it should say output:12v dc

it was really simple anyone with any kind of electrical experience can do it. you just have to know which is ur ground and which is the positive. most is red:positive and black:negative for the charger it will be black and white for positive and solid black for negative. then just butt connect them together or get a 12v switch to turn it on or off

true, thats pretty good, I posted an idea about car led, something like this but with the underglow so it would be brighter but i wasnt sure how to convert it to a wall outlet. thanks man

Did you connect more than one strip to a single charger, or did you only connect one strip to each charger?

I did a parallel circuit so all the lights receive 12volts.
All four lights get tide together.
I just stripped the ends then twisted the positives together
and the grounds together. Then u use butt connects or u could
use male and female type connections so u can disconnect them
later if needed

Using a phone right now if its all bunched together
