yesterday i bought 2 three spot gourami i looked up how to sex them and found out that i have 1 male and 1 female the male is chasing the female but he is not hurting her just a little chasing oh and they are in a 65 gallon tank with a 5 inch pleco and a peacfull 6 inch american cichlid i am moving the gourmis to a 30 gallon tank soon i am getting the 30 for chrismas i put a half a stirfoam cup in the tank and can you tell me a little about the breeding and bubblenests this is my first time breeding fish the gouramis are both about 4 inches will they breed and just give me good info about this and the male is the golden variday of three spot gouramis and the female is the blue or ophlane type of three spot gourami sorry for spelling erors Thanks please reply
 
I doubt that you gouramis are showing breeding activity. They are probably just sparring over territory. If you want to breed gouramis, you have to condition them for a few weeks. Live foods are best. When conditioned, raise water temperature up to the lower 80's and drop the water level of the tank. You need some type of floating plants in the tank for the male gourami to incorporate into the bubble nest. Otherwise they are like your typical bubble nest breeders.
