It's been three weeks now since I added the dovii. If you recall, I added a male and a female. The female was viciously murdered within days (probably by the spawning loiselli).

Well, the male is doing great. He is a little dark, indicating his subdominance. He is slowly starting to come out of his shell, so to speak. This morning, he came up to the top to feed with all the others for the first time. This afternoon, he got his first taste of shrimp. I love feeding shrimp, it really seems to pack on size. I had been "target" feeding him in his hiding spot as he wouldn't come out much.

Nobody in the tank really pays much attention to him or the tiny texas for that matter. The texas is a little more personable than the dovii. The texas spends all his time out in the open. The dovii, on the other hand, spends a lot of time hiding but is coming out more and more. I'm sure as he gains size and confidence, he'll find his proper place.

Here's a pic from last night. I can't wait for him to get really comfortable and start getting his good color back. He has tons of potential. If you look closely, you can see two little teeth on the bottom jaw.:D

wow veryy nice fish how big is it?

Thanks. He's about 4 3/4".

hahaha give him time soon he will become the one visciously murdering everything in site. and might I add that the dovii's fighting tactics are not like normal fish, mine really doesnt lip lock, he instead prefers to bite down on the other fish's tail and drab them around the tank like a rag doll.

Let's hope not, but I lol'd at the dragging around by the tail. Different fighting tactics? Parachromis mixed martial arts?:grinno:

Love the new avatar, btw. Hacksaw ftw!

Lil' dovii getting his swagger back :) I really hope this works out, it will look awesome seeing a big dovii cruising around with the other guys. What's next, trimac? Umbee???
