I wanted to check and see if this will work. The reason I would like to plumb the overflow from one tank to the other this way is so I dont have to cut another hole in the wall.

Flow rate will be less than 400gph and I plan to use 2" pipe for the overflow.

Any comments, red flags/concerns please post them

Thanks,
Reed

The tank on the right is pump fed and then gravity flows into the tank on the left.

With the slow flow rate and large diameter piping the water should be able to overcome the head right?

It will work but any debris will slowly clog up the lowest point of the overflow pipe (which will be in the wall?).

Just keep in mind when drilling between walls that besides the studs, you really should be aware of wiring within the wall also. I usually find out where power is on that wall and then kill the breaker to the source just to be safe.
