ticks on my rays,ray experts please.

I noticed some strange discolored marks on my t cup rays they are about 5 inch disc.upon closer exam i could see a small flat,bug with legs.i took the rays one at a time and removed the bugs with tweezers.The first bug was twice the size of the other and came off easy the second seemed to be hanging on like a tick and i had to pull it off.Would these bugs kill my rays,could there be eggs in the tank or baby bugs because there were two?Is there a way to kill these bugs without physically removing them with tweezers?did i do the right thing removing the bugs?

Not an expert BUT it sounds like you might have fish lice perhaps....

as in the first link Gr8KarmaSF posted, i posted there about Argulas, they came in with my leo's, like you did i just used the tweezers and removed them, and the rays where fine

i could only find just the two bugs and i looked them over really well so hopefully i got them all.i even examined there undersides by placing them in a large glass bowl:}

I should have video taped the procedure as my friends said it looks like a lab in here,lol turkey basters,tweezers,flash lights,nets,glass bowls,and 600 mg of advil(for me).
