the other day i was watching my tank right after feeding my barbs, and i looked in between my rocks that make up my african brown knife's little home and i saw him lean over onto his side and start waving his fins.

he wasnt going anywhere so i kept watching and i started seeing him blow all the extra flakes that the barbs didnt get (because my knife always chases them away) away from his hiding spot!:nilly: he was actually cleaning his hiding spot! once all the flakes were gone he got back into postition and went ack to waiting till it was night.

has anyone elses knives done this?

I noticed my African Brown Knife would do this a few time when I had one. It's always cool to see how fish clean their spots. I currently have a breeding pair of Salvini that cleans out a spot for their eggs. And everytime I clean the tank, it seems the the Plecos will fan out whatever debris is in there hiding spot for me to clean up. I don't know if they do it on purpose, but I always found that interesting.

yeah its deffinently very interesting, ive never head of it before.

woohoo you made your 7000th post in my thread and i just made my 1000th!!
