just ordered a 4” tig from Wes. Any info or Help is appreciated, how much current and oxygen is truly
Needed? How many power heads? How many air stones? How sensitive are they and what size do they get hardier? Thanks in advance will post pics when he comes in :)

I keep a powerhead, a sponge filter, a airstone, and a ac110 on my tig grow out. It is a 20-25 gallon tank with 2 tigs and a goonch with 60% water change every day. I have seen amazing growth from mine. Some say the tank was to small I admit it was not ideal but they are healthy growing and soon to move out. Clean water and airation are most important imo. Get it onto prepared foods and you should be good I stay away from shrimp since there seems to be a mix opinions on feeding them that so i figure why risk it . About them being hardy IDK at what size but i feel pretty confident with mine pushin 8 9 inches each now.

In my experience, 4" is when they start getting pretty hardy. Good luck. They are beautiful.

Awesome. He said they are eating cut fish, and I have a 75 with community fish, and a few other cats, Jaguars/rapaels/ dwarf giraffes that he is gonna go into when he comes in. I have a 200g with a hemibagrus Wyckii that big rich from Ohio fish rescue is gonna be coming to pick up this weekend, I was gonna put him in there but I’m thinking a 4” fish in a 200g tank solo might scare him or maybe not a good idea. So I as thinking keep him in the 75 until he gets a little bigger.

He arrived and he’s swimming around and seems healthy. He has red on his gills but I think that’s normal? I’m keeping close eye if anything goes after his streamer, “1.5 -2 inch blue JD “ he will be separated. Nothing is really mean in the tank though so I’m sure he will be fine.

And what is the best to feed them when small? He said silversides shrimp and smelt, I’m gonna have to check around today as I’ve neber seen silversides or shrimp for sale but I also never looked. I do have shrimp but I read they shouldn’t eat seafood?
