This has to be one of the most frustrating fish ive ever dealt with!! I have a new tig about 4-5 inches long and this dude just doesn't eat!! I've never seen a catfish swim ontop of his food even hit it with its nose and just keep going. It's been about 6 days now. He's in a 200 by himself. All parameters/water flow are good. I'm almost about to pull him out and set up a 10 gallon for the time being while he is small and maybe he will find food easier. I tried blood worms, talapia, blackworms, masivore pellets. He just does not eat and boy is it frustrating. And I can't keep left over food in the tank so everyday at light out I gotta try and feed him then come back 2 hours later and clean it all up. Super frustrating.. is it worth it moving him to a smaller tank for now? Any help

I tried small red worms last night and dangled it infront of his face, the wiggle even hit his face and he just swam the other way. I'm really blown away how these dudes even survive in the wild haha

I suggest dropping one worm in at night with lights out.

I will try dropping one red worm in and leaving it and see if he eats it over night.. do they have problems sensing food? Like does he know its there or is just timid in a new tank still

If you have no red flags whatsoever, the water is pristine and right for this species of fish, plenty DO, dim lights, and the fish suffers no stress at all that you could think of, then it is either simply adjusting as said above or it has been fed live before and it needs to fast to break. So, I'd say keep it up but offer feed every 2-3 days and something you could leave in the tank overnight. Check in the morning. Uneaten? Take out. Rinse and repeat. It needs no live feeder fish, I'd not even consider caving to its wants.
