i got a 6" tig a few days ago and that guy never seems to sit still. he's always restless and sometimes he's in a corner swimming up and down all the time. is this normal?

When mine was that size he used to swim in place a lot. He still does it sometimes but now he does it against the side of the tank with his head pointed straight up.

Just feeders twice a week. I buy them fatheads at my work when the fresh batches come in on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Gonna pull them out soon and try to get them on pellets though.
Dont have a tig, but have a 5" Juruense and they are very similar, mine used to swim alot to start with untill he settled in and now just sits on the top of this rock formation thing in the flow of a filter outlet.
Food wise when he was really small he would only eat feeders, I had him on neons for awhile, then slowly got him on to bloodworm, then when he got a little larger I got a really long pair of tweezers (chop stick would work the same) and brushed his whisker with a small piece of chopped up prawn and he struck at it and ate it, after that he will eat pretty much anything, sinking pellets, prawn, bloodworm etc etc.
The only thing I find is he wont go looking for food, it has to come to him in the flow he sits in, so I drop his food into the flow so it passes past him, the second anything touches a whisker he will strike at it and eat it.
