Can anyone give me a guideline in IDing a Tigrinus

do the younger ones look more dull?
is 80$ a good pricing for an 8 incher?

80.00 is a friggin steal for 8"'er... my only tip is long tail streamers. at 8" he should have stripes already and they should go all the way into the tail section..

i shoulda brought my camara.. they labeld them "catfish" oon the tank and i really wanted one.. i was watching him and an arow came by and brushed up against him and he went crazy...
one of them had stripes but it was on a really dull background, it had a face like a tig but no streamers... are there any othercatfish that looks like em?...

yea thats damn cheap for a 8".......there are jurenese catfish that are sometimes called "false tigs", little duller, and they have more black on them but they still get the streamers and everything but are cheaper.....

I agree with doug it was most likely a Juruense. A tig that say would be about $200-$225.

An 8'' tig should look just like this. If it doesn't it's not a tig.

if that's a tig you should definatly buy it, its about 1/3 the price of a Tig that size normally.
