But have you seen them this close? Busted out the macro lens and ring light for the first time in a LONG while. Let me know what you think, I only got about 12 photos before the batteries died.
First off here are the subjects. This was taken with the ring light up above the tank pointing down.
100% crop of the above photo. The lens is pretty sharp even at 100% crop
This is what they look like from a distance of 3' with the ring light on the lens. Big difference just changing the position of the lighting.
A 1:1 macro shot (my tank glass and camera sensor both need cleaning) shot at f32 with less than an inch of depth of field. Manual focus. 1:1 ratio. If you look closely at reflections you can see they all look like small doughnuts, due to the ring light.
And a 100% crop from the above photo. Who knew tiger barbs had whiskers? Damn this lens is sharp.
