It sounds silly, but they call themselves an "Eco-Zoo" The animals have better (at least bigger) habitats than most U.S. zoos I've ben to and the cats were beautiful and seemed well cared for. They have between 28-35 big cat cubs born a year, almost all are traded for new animals or sold to zoos to support the zoo.
I'm not totally against zoos, if they bring awareness of exotic wildlife to the public, it's probably a good thing in the end. I keep fish, housecats, a turtle, goats, and chickens in my care and I don't see anything wrong with it.
Anyways, it sure was fun to play with those kitties
It's a way the zoos/conservatories make money. They let you take pictures with some of the animals for a fee. I could have done the same thing with a python, but I could do that almost anytime at my lfs.
