LFS has what my research suggests to be a group of Botia Hymenophysa, 5 bucks a pop. Anyone has experience keeping this species? I read that they get to 12" in lenght and are semi-aggressive...

I don't know about twelve inches, but they do get big and they are aggressive. Mine chases the other loaches, and any smaller fish.

Yes I have. Would you say that its an accurate profile? Anything else to add?
I have no more to add than to say that the data for loaches compiled there are more reliable than the others. Why? The people who have written all those data are the ones who naturally kept and closely observed their loaches. They are quite prudent in as much as possible to provide us information of everything they have observed.
So according to my research, this fish is simmilar to the clown loach only stays a tad smaller and is a bit more aggressive right?
They are not similar to clown loaches, however they are still considered closely-related to the well-known botiine loaches that keep popping around the trade. What you have is a member of the Syncrossus genus. They are far different in terms of body structure and behavior. The name Botia hymenophysa is old hat. Syncrossus hymenophysa would be the proper term as they are identified with the Syncrossus genus.

Good day.:)

I have kept the tiger loaches shown in Lupins link and can confirm they are quite aggressive. The only other thing I have to add is they love to swim up water currents and would hide in my aquaclear filters by swimming up the returning water. Even able to swim up a 10cm high vertical flow about 1cm wide into overhead filters.

Definitely nothing like clown loaches. Might be okay with some big tough fish .....?

In my expierience If you give them enough space and hiding places they will not bother the other fish. They are very territorial and they will only chase other fish out of thier hiding spots.
