One of my goals for awhile has been to catch a tiger muskie (we don't have true muskie in CO, except in a few private lakes I have heard about) on a flyrod. Last year, I accomplished my goal with a stunning catch...I was just pulling my fly into view (a black clouser, one of the best flies ever made lol) and I noticed two fish coming in fast from the right. The lead one rushed forward and engulfed my fly. When I finally won the epic 5 second battle, a tiger muskie was finally in my hands. Granted, it was only about 10", but I was pumped!
I really want to catch one that will actually put up a fight, my goal is a 40"er, although I know it will be tough to do on a flyrod. If any of you can give me some tips on tiger muskie, I would really appreciate it! Even if you don't flyfish, I would still appreciate your help! I have been incorporating conventional angling techniques with flyfishing with good success over the past few years.
