I have a couple (one male and one female) tiger oscars in an 80 gallon aquarium... they are not as aggressive as everyone says they are.. is that a problem? In fact, the most aggressive fish in the aquarium is a tiny Astatotilapia latifasciata. he routinely slams the oscars into the glass.. he's a mean little bastard.

Astatotilapia latifasciata sounds like a jerk ninja. I'd move him for your Oscars' sake. Once you remove the primary aggressor, though, one of the Oscars might take that duty...

Oscars arent really mean. a 6" convict would whip up on a 8-9" oscar. but like everyone says, everyfish has its own personallity. i've seen osscars the hit the glass when i walk by but ive also seen an oscar ripped up in a goldfish tank at a lfs. so i wouldnt worry.

True, compared to other species, O's aren't aggressive. But two alone often leads to one bullying the other. If they are adults, though, there isn't too much to worry about since they have matured together. Just be ready for some aggression, in case it does happen.
