Hi, Me and my roommate just bought a tiger oscar and have some questions. It is bout 2 inches and we have it in a 30 gallon tank for now. We are planning on upgrading to a 75 gallon for it but we just haven't had the money to get a new tank yet. Our oscar just seems to be floating and not really eating, we have tried bloodworms and flakes and it just won't eat, none the less really swim around. Is this normal for when you first bring an oscar home? Just wondering if anyone who has kept oscars in the past can help us and give us some more tips on keep our little buddy alive.

well first question that comes to mind is, "did you cycle the tank before you put the oscar in?"

My oscar did the same... When i came inside the room he will hide in a corner and he will not eat when im near the tank... It takes a month and he started to believe me... But after a month he will jump and beg for food...

My oscar did the same thing when I first got him. He would even drift into the filters input where the water gets sucked. But he survived and now he's a BEAST. He'll be fine. Wait it out and if he doesn't eat his food, remove it so you don't get high ammonia which can kill him. Gl
