Hi all, I have had a breeding pair of tiger oscars for about 8 years now. Black and orange male 8yrs old and albino female about 5-6yrs old. Anyway he was my friend I am not afraid to say and she was his partner (not as intelligent as he was) he managed to jump out of the tank today due to my daughter leaving top open, needless to say she put him back and by time I got back he was dead, sad story I know but just giving a background before my question which is could I get her another mate as she was younger than him. I am very aware how they behave with other oscars and other species and had them in my home as a child and saw the damage that can happen, so I'm just wondering if anyone has successfully introduced another mate to an already paired tiger oscar.

Sorry for the loss.
Welcome to MFK.
It's possible but may or not work.
The main hurdle will be the 2 Oscars establishing rank.

Agreed, you'll want to get one large enough to not be killed instantly, and probably use a tank divider for awhile to introduce them to each other.
