Hello. I've actually read all the stickies. and I saw in one of the stickies that one of the recommended tankmates for bichirs are Tiger Oscars. I've always been interested in them but what's stopping me from getting them is that my friend warned me about them that they might eat my senegals. What do you guys think? My tank is a 120g

O's are punks compared to most CA but have big mouths and big appetites. Sen is most likely cb and if it has poor genetics it'll end up lunch.

Look into aequidens, cyrptoheros, and other small mouthed mild cichlids...lots of nice ones out there.

It should be, but depends if you get a good genetic sen, some sen get stuck at 5"
that's worrisome. i hope that's not common.
the last time i've seen senegals in an LFS. most of of them are easily 7" at least.
i asked the price though and it was too expensive. maybe because it's hard to grow it until 7"?
and i noticed that theirs have black eyes

Common senegal have black eyes and albino senegal have red, albino grows smaller and slower than a regular sen. Ive seen sen that grow 9" thats the biggest ive seen in person and it was thick, i know a member here that had a sen that grew 12" and another member only grew 5". I grew a sen before from 1" to 7" in 5 months but endup rehoming them.
Its really depends one luck, if i were you ill grow some sen first and see how big they will get since oscars are alway available in lfs.
