I ve been keeping rays for a while now and I want to expand to other species I have kept tea cups and motoros. the lfs has some tiger rays, i was thinking about getting one, are there any special care requirements for these rays? i know that they are one of the biggest rays reaching 4+ feet. is there any thing else i should be aware of? What should pricing be?

Pricing will be kinda on the expensive side. Your water parameters must be very stable, Temp should be a little higher. Someone can chime in that has actually kept tigers but I'd say 85-86 degrees. They are challenging but if you are good with your husbandry and acclimate the ray very well, it should be fine. Granted you must acquire a healthy specimen. Make sure the ray is eating at the lfs before you buy.

I've kept tigers 78-80 before. Just make sure it's eating aggressively prior to buying it. I've kept them with other rays, and if they don't go after food quickly, they will be out of luck.

ive kept tigers with motoros and other fish no problems.... they are alot more hardy than flowers... they go the same as most other rays pristine water... etc...

I have recently bought a tiger ray and so far he has been a lot hard to get on other food other than live blackworns but he eat them like crazy and has been gaining lots of weight. All other things so far he has been pretty much like all my other rays. Make sure hes eating in the store before buying and keep your water pristine!

Price will be around 800 bucks depending on size. Super nice pattern, perfect tail, large size, will all add to price.
