I'm planing on getting a tiger salamander, but there some questions I have:
1) How often should I clean/change the substrate (I'm planing on using Eco Earth)?
2) Can I feed my tiger salamander meal worms or should I feed them crickets?
Thanks for your time and effort.

Well i wouldnt use eco erath If it is dry it might get on his eye i would use eco earth but make sure itis wet moist i would put in clean water bowl every day They love meal worms crickets eathworms i seen them eat pinke mice but it is not healthy if you feed him mice all the tim what sizes tank are you putting him in

I change my tigers' substrate every 6-8 weeks. My guys consistently defecate in their water dish, so I have to change that daily, but they don't foul the substrate. Eco-Earth seems pretty resistant to mold, too, so I can go a while between changes.

Mealworms are not a good staple food. Gut-loaded crickets are good, roaches better (more meat, less chitin). Nightcrawlers are probably the best all-round feeder.

But you want a hiding place for them What sizes tank
