I know these guys can get up to around 6 inches and the group of 6 I have right now are about 3 inches and would like to get them to 4-5 at least before I add them with other characins......what growth rate have u guys seen with them?

They're pretty slow compared to wide bar blue hooks or red hooks... I currently have 3 tiger SDs that are around 6", and I got them back in 2014 when they were about the size of a $.50 coin. And it took me almost 15 months to get to around 5-6"... Their diet usually consisted of massivores & occasional veggies.

Lol I Feel ya on that... But I don't think the payara will be able to eat the tiger SDs that easily. Search for silver dollar & payara and you will see a post in which the OP put a pic of the payara trying to eat the SD... it didn't succeed lol but left 2 vampire puncture wounds on it tho'. My SDs are with a 10.5" tat atm and they are doing great.

I didn't think they were able to eat them but would still be able to hurt or kill with those fangs ......I'll check it out thanks
