Was wondering what the realistic max length of these cats is, in an aquarium? I've seen 3'+ listed, but not sure if that's in the wild or captivity...

Also, what size tank would be needed for one? I saw one last week at a local pet store close by, was about 7-8" and had $50 on it... Cool looking fish, I think I might have a new goal for my next tank!

Same requirements as a RTC.. they are longer less bulky fish but more active ime. atm I have my 14" in an 1k gallon Intex pool. Stunning and active but also somewhat flighty.

I think bigger tsn look kinda weird. Ya they are super cool looking when young but they get to disproportional looking to me but this could be from stunting.

In my opinion they grow slower then rtc as well

Well a 1000gal. tank is even beyond any kind of goal or space I have available, lol. Maybe I should just aim for smaller monsters when I move up... heh.

All depends on what u have room for. My 12' intex pool cost me $150. Very plausible for anyone to pick one up. I did put an additional 45mil epdm liner in mine for another $250. But $400 for a true monster setup is alot cheaper than what moat people pay for a 125gal. And to answer ur original ? Tsn will hit every bit of 30" plus in most sized tanks. They really start blowing up beyond that size when given more room. Ive grown out atleast 20 :) and currently have 8 in the 24-36" range. I would have more but the big boys decieded to eat some of the 18-20"ers. They do grow slower than rtc's initially but it evens out after 18-20"

Still rules that out, lol. I've got a rather small house (the biggest bedroom is 10'x11', and my living room is bigger, but between the entertainment center, sofa, and 75 gallon tank, I don't have any more clear wall space...

Just a dream for later... Seriously considering adding a fish room on to my workshop, but since it's detached, I'd be afraid of the heating/cooling costs... can get over 100 degrees here in the summer at times, and usually have a few days of single digit temps in the winter...
