Tiger shovelnose catfish diet

I just got a 7 inch tiger shovelnose cat and I tried feeding him some cut shrimp but he didn’t eat it. Should I try feeding him something else, if so what? Or should I just keep trying cut shrimp?

If it’s a recent purchase then wait it out. As long as water is clean would give it a day and then try again with a pellet or cut up tilapia.

It is likely just adjusting to the new water, tank, diet, etc. It may take a day or even a week or longer.

If not it, then you need to post your ammonia and nitrite test results by a liquid test.

Also, bright lights, bullying, insufficient dissolved oxygen, unstable pH, too low carbonate hardness are some of the usual sources of stress, which would affect any fish' appetite.

I'd try the Massivore pellets..... my TSN goes nuts for them..... also likes Krill....see pic below.
