i have never owned a tiger i am probably getting one here very soon around 9-10"

in april i bought a flower 8" and its already colored up amazing and probably 11"

do flowers color up quicker than tigers,i have herd that both species need to be very large to start to color up ,but i am learning different with this flower already.who has any tigers on here and how long and what size does the coloring start showing brightly

and heres a picture of my flower at 11"

They are both the same, some color up early and some have to get 12-14 inch before they do. Just varies with substrate color, stress level, and the individual ray.

these were some of my tiger rays

peter nice tigers thanks, did you ever get them eating anything but live foods.i got my tiger last week

may2011 012.JPGhi peter he is 9" just a small guy.eats pretty good mostly live stuff but today and yesterday i have been getting him eating chopped shrimp,i have to cut into small bits chopp up some earth worms and take the smelly blackworm water mix it all up and let the sent of the worms soak into the shrimp for a hour. than he will take it in his mouth and chew.i have only noticed him swallow shrimp twice so far! i have heard these rays are very very difficult to get eating anything except live worms.mine is so far a extremely slow eater alot of work cause he is in with my flower ray and some fish that if i dont use tongs to feed they will get.i dedicate about 30 minutes a day in just feeding th tiger so far but i think his eating habbits will change soon.

this is a photo of him right after i picked it up from the airport!
will post more when stress is gone and colors up a bit better
