Hi,

I have a 35 cm large IT and I want to put some extra animals in his 1200 liter tank. All the animals I want to put in are 30 + cm. Is there a mimimum number I should get to form a group?

Or is it possibile to have a group with 2 (or 3) animals?

Any tips to make a It communitytank work?

Please give me your advise. Thanks.

add 1 at a time n observe, just keep it simple ... what kind fish you wanna add ?
judge by the tank size you can add up to 6-8 fishes @ 30+
you can add any bottom dweller fishes and/or middle dweller like RTC, TSN, bichirs, gars, etc
they will make a beautiful commtank CMIW ;)
NB. just make sure that your fish isn't small enough to get munch by the others :D

Tigrinis, rays and lots of other tigers will do well.
If u get other ITs, try to get a range of sizes, so they r not all the same.
A group of 3-5 big 12 inch ITs will fight hard.
As soon as the sizes differ, it works really well.
I have tig an Leo and the tigers NEVER attack them.

What fish do u have in mind?

Actually I was thinking of 2 more IT's (30+ cm) and a pair of large cichlids.
I already have a red arowana (60 cm) and 2 large rays.

What cichlids should be a wise choice?

I keep my dats with Geos and it works very well.

Five is a good number, but there are no guarantees as far as aggression goes, it depends on the individual fish as well.
