So I just added four 4" gulper catfish to my Tigrinus tank. My tig is about 8". Two of the gulpers swim by the Tig and the Tig bites it. The gulper is way to think for it to eat, so the Tig lets go but trys to bite the other one and misses. Tig swims away.

What do you guys think? Time to split the tank or friendly hello bite?

I would split them up as soon as possible. Doesn't matter how much bigger a fish might be compared to a Gulper. The Gulper will probably end up eating the Tig. A member here awhile back actually had his Lei Aro eaten by a Gulper and the Lei was 8" and Gulper was 4".

And I'm sure you don't want your Tig to end up as your most expensive feeder.

Soon it will not be the tig snapping at the gulpers but one of the gulpers swallowing that tig right up!

IMO you should seperate becuase I wouldnt want any casualties with those expensive fish...

you shouldnt even be reading this until after you separate them a tigrinus is the fish Id most like to have and it will end up as lunch for one of the gulpers please take everyones advice if you havent already and separate

Lol... ok did it last night. Nice little egg crate wall from top to bottom even through the 3m quartz.

Yeah, figure to better be safe than sorry with these spendy cats.

You should probably hand the Tig over to me!

I was considering selling him but hes getting nicer with time and he eats like a pig. You should think about getting a gulper from shawn. I requested them in from him and bought 5 of the 9 he got. I was just thinking about getting the rest, but I needed to buy some other stuff.
