Need a little help as these are the first tigs I’ve owned.

I have 2 tigs in my 75 gallon with a divider in the middle and I also have a 240 where I would like to introduce these guys. The question I have is can 2 tigs be kept in a 240 gallon 8x2x2 without any fighting?

It can work but that all depends on your tigs, I currently have 3 smaller ones together in a 300 but they are all under 8". Just as long as they have their own territories then they should be okay. My two larger tigs lay right next to each other from time to time usually after feeding.

thanks, i goona give it a try. should i get 2 large PVC pipes, add one in each side of the tank to help minimize the agression and give each there own area?

Another Question.

Can a Tig hadle 84+ degree temp or what is the max temp can a tig handle?

Here is my current stock list:

240 gallon

1-Large Blood parrot
3-Med Blood parrot
6-Silver dollars
1-Albino pleco
1-High-fin pleco
1-Black Arowana 14-15 inch
1- Adult Faded Flower Horn
1- Hoplarchus psittacus/true parrot cichlid 6-7 inch
1-Honduran Red Point 5 inch
1-Synodontis Catfish 6-7 inch
1-Distichodus Sexfasciatus around 13 inches

75 gallon

2-Tigrinus Catfish 11-12 inch
1- Datnoid
1- Clown Loach

I was think of keeping on tig in 75 and move the other but i'm concern about the flowerhorn in the 240. So i want to move both tigs in 240 and put the flowerhorn in the 75 with large blood parrot.

Tigs get too large for a 240.

Sexfasciatus was an impluse buy when i was at a LFS, I never seen one this big so i assumed it maxed out. Later after some research i found out the real size he can attain.

I bought the tigs because from all the treads and research online stated they reach about 24 inches. I wanted a TSN and 240 would not be able to house one for life.

So how big do tigs get?

The tig should be able to handle the 84+ for a short time but I wouldn't keep it at that temp for any extended period of time. The real problem that your going to encounter is that they require a higher concentration of dissolved O2 in the water and at that elevated temp your going to need lots of airstones or venturi's running on your pumps.

There is a guy with a 27"er on here and I'm fairly positive they can grow larger. Tigs like to swim and as such should be kept in a tank that is not just as wide as they are long.
