I have always wanted to keep a Tigrinus Catfish and as I have ordered a tank upgrade to 9x 3 x 2.5 with 6ft sump I am wondering whether that would be adequate to house one long term as I would be unlikely to go bigger

Realistically what sort of size do they achieve in home aquarium?

I had one grow out to 27 inches and that was big and he was in a 180 gallon tank 8x2x2 it is big enough your tank as they only get to about 24 inches
Thats good to know cheers for that as I have always admired them on you tube etc but never seen one in the flesh. When I finally get my new tank a Tigrinus will be the first fish I order for it

It should suffice especially because it seems rather sedentary. 3ft width is a bit tight but maybe doable. They can reach 2.5ft and even 3ft in captivity but this seems exceptional.
