Managed to pick up a young but large, tigrinus catfish. Actually, from a long term member off here.
Unfortunately on my way home. My van had an issue with a pipe coming off the radiator. So a 3 hour trip turned into a 6 hour trip. Constant stopping and refilling the water at every services along the motorway. I tried various other things to fix it, but it didn’t seem to budge. Fortunately, I have a small fleet of vans. So the fish collecting can carry on!

Fish arrive okay, a little red around the chin and a little cold.
It’s been a few hours and he’s settled down. By the looks of him, I expect a full recovery within a few days. He settled in great.
Measured in at 21”.

I will keep up the updates over the next few days and hopefully monitor its growth over the next few years.

Beautiful indeed,good looking Megalodoras too.

Oddly, I’m not a huge fan of this ones shape. It’s over weight and to plump for me. Whilst I no longer have my huge one. This is one of several , but I picked him up super cheap. So I couldn’t refuse!
I've had a few over the years I really like their markings but I got tired of their inactivity so I traded them for other fish.

Wonderful pickup! To my eye too it is chunky. I wonder how one gets their tig so chunky, I never could (not that I tried on purpose). Perhaps my tigs have been underfed but I don't believe so. Not even the most dominant of ours ever looked that well fed. I am used to seeing them more stick-like. I hope it is healthy, not retaining water or some such. Pretty stripes too, I like when they are broken or zigzagged. Matter of taste.

It was feed twice a day. I guessing that explains the girth to it. I shall
Be putting him on a diet 2 feedings a week. Cats don’t need constant food, they end up
Unhealthy over years of it.

but yes. A very nice specimen and a great addition to the fish room.
My collection is basically compled now. I have a few more to list up when I get chance.
A large Jau and AAA+ grade phantom rtc,(awaiting that to land in the country) plus a handful of other bits.

Twice a day? Mama mia! Apparently them feedings weren't tiny snacks either...

If I knew you even a little, I'd say you were in denial. Collectors never stop, only pause. They get more tanks and more and bigger fish. :)

If you are a fan of naturally occurring color morphs, don't get the phantom RTC. This is a manmade color morph, nothing natural there. If you don't care, then disregard this.
