tigrinus growth rate

how fast to baby tigs grow???

is it fast 1" per week like an arrow???
or slow 2" per year like dats???

cant find any info but would like to keep one (baught at 3-4") with my dats 4-6" would it out grow and eat them all????

1" per month in an average. they grow big and fast. depending on how much u feed. possibly even up to 2" in a month if ypou have good feeding schedule

i'm glad to be back its been a busy few months just about sorted my new house out the somight be on here more(when i get a phone line connected anyway lol)

Mine grew about an inch per month. He's 15" now and his mouth isn't big enough to eat a 4-6" Dat.

no you wont i have a 18 inch tig with a 5 inch NTT and a 4 inch NGT no problems i have been doing this kind of thing for years other fish don't seam to eat tigers

tigs grow fairly fast up to 12 inch then slow right down

the other trick with tigs is don't feed them to fast they are rubbish hunters i sometimes wonder how they feed in the wild

I actually have a 2" silver dat in with my 15" tig because I don't have anywhere else to put him. :screwy: I hope he doesn't get eaten because he's the cutest, most outgoing little guy you ever saw lol. He has lots of hiding places but he never hides.

As far as feeding the tig, I only give him food every 3rd day.
 
thanks guys think i'm gonna buy one then! there are some polys and silver dollers in the tank aswell but they are big enough to stay look after them selves

can't wait for my new tig!!!
 
its very tempting to feed the little tig hard don't

try to stay away from salty foods like prawn shrimp mussel and cockle when the tig is below 10 inch they don't seam to be able to digest them to well

try to get the baby tig eating hikari sinking carnivore from the start
