My tig will be arrive tomorrow morning. Itll be about 6". Is there any tips or tricks when taking care of it? Any good diet for it? It is currently eating pellets. I changed my tank bottom to sand for it and checked all my levels ( nitrate, nitrite, ammonia) and they are all very good. P.s. I paid 300$ including shipping that a ok price? Keep in mind I am on the east coast not west were they are cheap. Thanks for any info.

it's great that he eats pellets (keep him on quality ones carnivore and then masivore). if you want to vary his diet market shrimp is an option (watch out for salt and preservatives, can be fatal at its size) don't worry about the price....I personally paid a little extra for my tig when I got it, only because it was on pellets.
I would hold on the aro, regardless of size, since its growing rate will be much faster than the tig, which will end up being food.

So arrows grow quick? Are tigs really that slow at growing? If I keep small fish that would be ok right? I know he could eat them if he wanted and that would be fine just add some fish to add color to the tank?

Ok so my tig will be here tomorrow. And I have yet to sell my rtc and tsn. They are about 3-4". And my tig is 5-6" will it be ok?

Congrats on your new Tig coming. I got a 10" one last week. I have yet to see him eat. I hope he scavenges at night.

nomad, where can I find shrimp with no salt or preservatives around here? Best I can find is shrimp with no preservatives but with salt.

I bought some from Sprouts in Fort Collins (bulk)....any raw shrimp boiled in a large pot and then rinsed will be fine in my experience (will lower the content of salt). same goes for calamari and scalops.
the smaller the tig, the bigger the risk when it comes to salty seafood.
yeah ...when the light are off the hunt is on ....my tig just ate my smallest geo last night :irked: (after a month of peaceful coexistence)

for the OP...as the other poster said you should loose the rtc and tsn ...your juvie tig doesn't need that type of competition when it comes to food....also be careful when it comes to overfeeding, you can kill your small tig that way.

The rtc and tsn have to be in there for a few more days will that work. Or will I need to get a tank divider? Also what you mean by over feed will they eat to death?! How much should it eat then?

Ok so my tig is here and in my tank. Must say they are dull looking when they are young. But one of his streamers is completely missing! Please tell me they grow back over time!
