Recently I purchased a Tig catfish from an online fish store. The fish was sent to me overnight in the mail. Upon arriving it's about 4'' long including the tail (not the streamer).

Ever since it's been in the tank it seems to just keep swimming in place in a corner. It doesn't seem to be to specific as to where it does this, but it seems to be doing it nearly constantly. In addition, I noticed that the gills on the fish seem to be red. I can see a red through the skin (almost as if the skin near the gills is translucent).

I feel like there is obviously an issue but I don't know what. How worried should I be about this? Should I take the fish out and put it in an ISO? I've never kept a Tig before so I'm open to advice.

not sure about tigs but most other catfish hide alot in the same area, maybe the red is due to it still being a juvie? does it eat?

Hmm, I would of never thought that'd be normal behavior for them.

As long as it eats... Nothing to worry about IMO.

I'm not sure if he's eating. I've never actually seen him feed. I've been trying to feed them all sinking pellets, frozen mysis, and frozen brine.

I read somewhere that blood worms were a good idea, do you guys have any more suggestions?

Thanks for all your responses by the way.

WHO DID YOU ORDER IT FROM?

I ordered it from Aqua Scape Online. It has actually died since this post.

i noticed when fish swim up and down the glass they are stressed when this happens i add more hiding spots for the fish and dem lights this helps calm them down
