ill be getting a tigrinus to be added in my collection.
i know i need to add a powerhead in the tank. my question is where's the best place to position it to get maximum dissolved oxygen for the tigrinus?

top?
middle?
near bottom?

i already have the output nozzle of my XP3 on the top to create agitation on the surface. i also have air stones in the tank.

thanks in advance.:)

anyone??? i need to figure out where is the best place to put the power head to create maximum oxygen

As far as I am aware it doesnt matter, the oxygen is created when the bubbles break the surface anyway, so I doubt it would make much difference where its situated.

The reason for extra powerhead on top of what you have would be to create a current I would think as they like a strong current to sit in?

Sounds like you are already putting in plenty of oxygen already.

they should be fine. they really dont need a strong current. its just preferred. just like how loaches prefer a strong current. but if u keep them in a tank with a sponge filter they will do just as good.

but adding a powerhead isnt a bad idea??

Not at all, they like it, position it somewhere that will add some water movement, they like to sit in it.

But as to "where" it is, doesnt matter much in relation to putting oxygen in the water.

Surface movement is what puts the oxygen in.

dont over feed it

Yeah great bit of advice this, also high protein, prawn etc isnt supposed to be good either when young.

Once they get like 6" + theyre out of the danger zone so to speak.

Do some searches on the forum, lots of good info here.

yes! thanks! i was told not to overfeed and it needs lots of oxygen.
also likes cavings and driftwoods, and mild lighting. im picking up 1 today,
ill post pics when fully acclimated.;)
