Is it normal for juvenile tigs to have red gill covers? I am no expert on cats & have read (google) that this is normal but while looking at most juvenile tig pics on the net, they do not have red gill covers. If normal, does it eventually fade away? --at adulthood? OR is this some condition of sorts? If so, how does one cure? What is it? Thank you.

mine had kinda red gill covers when he young just, just seems they are fairly thin and translucent when they are young and they become whiter as they get older.

Normal I made a thread about this 3 yrs 2 yrs ago or more and I have had 4 tigs all looked like that and grew out of it. Here is a pic of my new baby 3".

I like the nice replies above. If you really cared/worried, a pic is needed not the words. Have you heard a story of one narrator and two painters? One drew an elephant, the other drew a rat listening to the same story...

You on the other hand, thanx for the warm welcome. Apparently two other members knew what I was talking about. "If you really cared/worried..." HA! What gets me is that comments like these turn new & seasoned members off. Not cool. Why are we so quick to judge? Hmm?? You want pics, look at the one above your post, you want more pics, here you go:

That's really funny :)) I am sorry. I guess my well-intended post didn't come out right. Let me paraphrase/translate:

I like the nice replies above ( = I assume I know what you are asking about and I could not reply better than the two members before me). If you really cared/worried (that your fish might be sick), a pic is needed not the words (to help you quickly and more efficiently). Have you heard a story of one narrator and two painters? One drew an elephant, the other drew a rat listening to the same story... (this exaggeration was meant to make you smile and I am sorry you saw only derision in it.)
