Monoculus ;)
Haven't been able to get my tigrinus to eat. Been nearly 2 weeks now!

Was told by LFS he was accepting pellets, and any frozen foods.

I've tried all my hikari foods, and frozen blood worms.

He tried to eat a feeder, but it was too large to get down. And I don't want to have him on feeders anyways, but was nice to see him attack something.

Did you see him eating in the shop?

Steve

how big is he? if he's small try guppies or blckwrms(stay away from tubifex), main thing is get food into him if he's little. You can wean him off live food later... if he's larger try earthworms whole or cut up.

Most LFS say all their fish is on pellets and/or flakes. The employees just walk up and down the aisle and dump some food in, once maybe twice in a 24 hour period. They don't watch the fish eat:naughty:

You might not see it eating during the day. I cater to my tigs by putting shrimp and NLS wafers in front of them during the night. When I got my first one it was about 6" and I kept its tank stocked with feeders till it hit 10". I started training to shrimp then waffers.
BTW whats the temp?

The tank temp is 88 degrees.

He is about 10" in size.

I saw him try a pellet once but spit it out. I usually feed in middle of night as I don't get off work till 2am or so.

Really getting worried!!

How would I go about training for hand feeding?

Would be hard to keep tnak stocked with live feeders as my pbass would just devour them. And I only do live feeders once a month currently as my pbass and arp in that tank are pellet trained.

Currently I have the following availabale @ my house

Hikari canivore pellets, food sticks, massivore delite, frozen blood worms, frozen krill, frozen jumbo mysis shrimp, frozen silversiders. Also have some frozen shrimp.

Looking into ordering some meal worms as my earthworm farm has been emptied out

Any reason you have him at 88 degrees? These guys prefer 75-82 degrees. These guys need high oxygen levels and the warmer the water, the less O2 it can hold.
