Tigrinus tankmates?

Looking for a couple large peaceful (semi anyway) fish to put in my 180 with a 5" Tigrinus. I am leaning towards a pair of Gold Severums but am open to suggestions. I thought about an oscar and a Sev but think the Oscar might pick on the Tigrinus when they get big? Could a 20" Tig eat an 8-10" Severum?? My primary concern is for the safety of the Tigrenus, I'd hate to lose a $300 cat to a $10 Cichlid! Any suggestions would help.

Generally speaking, you're asking for trouble by keeping south american pims with cichlids.

generally top dwellers would do.. i've kept mine with an endlicheri bichir & johanna pike cichlid with no problems.. but my escondido texas cichlid picked on my tig so i had to move him to another tank

It was a mbu puffer. The puffer probably thinks the streamer's a worm since I feed him mostly on earth and black worms.
