So I have my tig along with pbass in my 150 and had heard from a friend that they are sensitive to aquarium salt and I should not put too much. Can anyone verify this?
Just make sure you dissolve it in a container with aquarium water first before you pour it in the tank. As for the amount, I would play it safe and just use half the dosage of salt, instead of the full dosage...but maybe someone can confirm it's okay to use full dosage.
your friend is full of crap and is trying to brainwash you.
salt is good for ick and keeps the stress down in your fish
use 1tbs to 5gal (so if you have a 10gal tank put 2tbs in it)
and it is not necessary to mix you salt in a container you can just pour it in the tank
seeing as tigs are scaleless, i could see them being more sensitive to salt burns than scaled fish. as long as it's dissolved before being added to the tank, it should be ok (as long as you don't overdose the tank hard)
